Srinagar, Oct 4: State Government has appointed Justice (retired) M L Koul as the head of the judicial commission to probe the Shopian firing incident of September 7 that left four persons, including a Pakistani militant, dead.
While reacting to the Shopian firing issue raised by Opposition leader Mehbooba Mufti during Zero hour, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah informed the House that the Government has appointed Justice Koul as head of the Inquiry Commission to look into the recent Shopian incidents.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday announced a judicial inquiry by a retired High Court judge into the firing incident at Shopian on September 7.
