KATHUA, Sept 4: Kathua Campus, University of Jammu organized an industrial visit for the MBA and MCA students to Ind-Swift Pharmaceuticals, Samba, today.
Ramesh Bhardwaj, Senior Manager–HR, deputed Balbir Khajuria, Senior Officer HR to co-ordinate the visit, during which they explained the whole process of manufacturing the APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).
In the production department, Ram Singh, Manager-Production along with his team explained the various steps involved in the production of APIs and how they maintain temperature in the production unit.
Later, Ashok Mourya, Officer-Quality Assurance apprised the students that company has multi-location manufacturing sites for producing APIs where they comply with the stringent USFDA and other regulatory standards.
According to Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, the visit was organised with a purpose to acquaint the students with the industrial processes, besides enabling them to seek first hand experience of the corporate life.
It is pertinent to mention here that the company has developed more than forty APIs and is producing four of them at Jammu plant. They are the major exporters of APIs in more than fifty countries.
The students also saw the various machines and equipments used in testing the quality of APIs produced at the plant. Students also raised queries to clear their doubts about the manufacturing and related processes.
Ramesh Bhardwaj also shared his experiences with the students, while the faculty and the students expressed their gratitude to Vishal Batra, Unit Head, who facilitated the visit.
The students were accompanied by Naresh Sharma, Vishal Sharma and Suresh Sharma, faculty members for the MBA and MCA programmes. The visit was coordinated by Naresh Sharma, Coordinator Placements for the Kathua Campus.
