JAMMU, Aug 17: Continuing with the BJP’s programme of reaching every nook and corner of the Parliamentary Constituency on scooters and bikes, Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with Pahari Board State Vice-Chairman Kuldeep Raj Gupta, MLC Vibodh Gupta and district president Dinesh Sharma, travelled through Muradpur, Tangari and Palma areas falling under Rajouri, Kalakote and Darhal Assembly Constituencies of Rajouri district today. The rally with 300 two wheelers finally culminated at Budda Amarnath Yatra base Camp in Rajouri City.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing at a number of places where he was accorded warm reception, said that the focus of “Tiranga Yatra” as part of the celebration of the 70th Independence Day is to remember and pay tributes to all those martyrs who laid down their lives during the national struggle for independence from foreign rule. All the programmes on the occasion of 70th Independence Day and spread over many days, have special significance so that the people fully appreciate and become aware of the national history, he added. Jugal said India had remained under foreign rule for many centuries due to the fragmentation and division of the country into many small kingdoms and principalities. Their mutual rivalry and competition facilitated the Britishers to make India its colony. He further said that we have to guard against divisive and fractious forces in the country, so that the country does not get deviated from the path of progress.
He said the so called activists, who find fault with the governing system of the country in every respect should be ignored and we must persist with our efforts to realise the dream of Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India.
Vibodh Gupta said that the Tiranga Yatra has been successful in entire Rajouri district and the same is clear from the fact that people in large, youth in particular, joined us at different places. He said that the enthusiasm among the people is also an indicator that whether rural or urban, everyone is concerned for the nation, martyrs and honour of its symbols. He also spoke on various other events being organised under Azaadi 70 fortnight programmes.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta said that this yatra has reminded of the 1953 agitation when the nationalist people got bullets for carrying the Tricolour in their hands. Today the time has changed and anyone can raise the National Flag.
District president Dinesh Sharma said that the 70th Independence Day celebrations through various programmes will obviously enthuse common people to identify themselves with the dreams of Narendra Modi to make India a true great nation.
