JAMMU, Oct 28: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) conducted Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting in BSNL Bhawan, Railhead Complex, here today.
The meeting was presided over by Members of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Gulam Ali Khatana. In addition to two MPs, other TAC members Ayodhya Gupta, Jai Ram Sharma, Jangbir Singh, Rajinder Gupta and Dev Raj Sharma also attended the meeting.
From BSNL side, detailed report regarding various development initiatives taken and going to be implemented in the coming future was presented. The primary focus was given on improvement of Mobile signal, installation of new Towers, upgradation of existing technology to 4G/5G and extending fibre services at Block/Gram Panchayat level.
Latest development regarding full upgradation of landline connections in Kalakote area on Fibre Technology and Bulk SMS Services being provided to various Government organizations were also discussed.
Principal General Manager Kush Kumar briefed about the developments in implementation of 4G Saturation dream project of Government of India to provide high speed internet access to uncovered villages while General Manager Jammu Dharmendra Yadav presented detailed report for upgradation of Copper to Fibre and extending Fibre connectivity to each nook and corner of Jammu province.
BSNL signal issue at Purmandal was also discussed. It was mentioned that the BSNL is still offering 2G signal in Puramandal area which needs to be improved to 4G coverage. Moreover, Marketing Network of BSNL Jammu was also discussed, improvement of which was emphasized.
Members requested BSNL Jammu Team to incorporate the people already working with BSNL since long for better out-reach amongst people. They also conveyed concern on the low number of BSNL connections being provisioned in comparison to other TSPs.
Other BSNL officials present in the meeting were Rajesh Khanna, Rakesh Sharma, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Anil Kumar Maurya, Sanjeev Kumar, Bhavuk Anand, Vinay Khajuria, Neeraj Sharma, Satyajit Sharma, Prabhakar Birru, Paras Lal and Rajneesh Kumar Salgotra.
