JAMMU, Dec 24: Member of Parliament (MP) from Jammu-Poonch, Lok Sabha, Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma today inaugurated an examination hall, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Lab at Government Higher Secondary School, Jindrah.
Jugal Kishore, while addressing the gathering on the occasion said that there was a great need of Examination Hall in the School which also houses the Government Degree College Jindrah. During visit to GHS School in previous times the demand was raised by the inhabitants of the area, school staff & students and efforts were put on to fulfil the demand. The Examination Hall was built at an estimated cost of Rs 60 lakh by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme, he added.
Flanked by BJP leaders Nand Kishore Sharma and Anil Sharma (Sarpanch of Panchayat Jindrah), MP expressed satisfaction over the construction of Examination Hall and ICT Lab in Jindrah, saying that it would immensely benefit students of the area and the inauguration of Examination Hall has fulfilled the long pending demand of the local people. The ICT Lab has been constructed under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) (now Samagra Shiksha) with an approximate cost of Rs 6 lakh . It would provide opportunities to students to mainly build their capacity on ICT skills and make them learn through computer aided learning process, the MP said, adding that the Lab, built under RMSA scheme, involves use of computer-based teaching and learning in the schools to prepare the students for the future challenges in the technological advancement.
Local people and teaching fraternity, led by Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Jindrah Anil Sharma, expressed gratitude to the MP for dedicating the Examination Hall and ICT Lab to the students.
Prominent among those who attended the function included Principal Government Degree College, Jindrah, Rita Bhagat, Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Jindrah, Sunil Nanda, Onkar Singh, Chander Moli (retired Master), Capt. (retd) Naseeb Singh, Capt (Jagdish Singh, Sarpanch Kuldeep Sharma, Sarpanch Mansa Ram, Girdhari Lal Sharma,Sum Dutt, Harish Sharma, Balkrishan Sharma, Keemat Raj, Dr Sunil Sharma, Randhir Singh, Pinta, Rampal Khajuria, Shiv Darshan Kumar and Ramadho Singh.
