JAMMU, Sept 6: In an impressive function a one day exhibition of Basohli paintings was today organized by Indian Art Centre in collaboration with Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma who was the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the exhibition.
BJP State secretary, Ajay Pargal and Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar, Prof. Dr. Kaushal Smotra were the guest of honour, while State Executive Member, BJP, Ankit Gupta, Brijeshwar Rana, Prof. Neeru Abrol & Prof. Surinder Sharma were special guests during the programme.
The Organizers of the exhibition were Poonam Bhalgotra, chief organizer, MK Wadhera, organizer artist.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore said that it is a good initiative to promote and teach students about Basohli art. He added that this type of talent should be promoted on higher scales. He interacted with the students and gave a look to the paintings made by them. He also distributed prizes and certificates among the students.
Jugal also appreciated the role of the Dr. Kaushal Smotra in organizing such programs.
While speaking on the occasion, Ajay Pargal said that this type of art work should be internationally recognized. He also boosted the morale of the participants and advised them to take part in these kind of activities along with their studies.
MK Wadhera complimented Jugal Kishore for sparing his valuable time and for boosting the morale of the participants.
