Jugal inaugurates awareness camp under SAGY at Mathwar

JAMMU, May 25: Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma today inaugurated an awareness camp under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY) at Mathwar village here today.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Additional District Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, SDM Jammu (North), SDM Mathwar besides senior officers of line departments were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma said that Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna is a rural development programme broadly focusing upon the development of  the villages  and to uplift the living standard of the people  by their  Member Parliament. He said Mathar village has been adopted under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna in Jammu-Poonch Parliament Constituency. He said that the motive of organizing this awareness  camp at Mathwar is to provide basic services to people at their doorsteps under a single umbrella.
Mr. Sharma asked the concerned officers to work collectively to ensure effective implementation of this programme and generate massive awareness among the people so that they can avail benefits of centre sponsored schemes and other flagship programmes.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the objective of SAGY to strengthen the gram panchayats and modernization of social resources. He sought people’s participation for identifying development needs and set priorities in integrated manner.
The Member Parliament inspected various departmental stalls and asked the officers to generate awareness among  people about the schemes   On spot services were provided to the people like medical check-up, job cards, Kissan Credit Cards etc. The officers also apprised in detail about the schemes and welfare programmes of their respective departments.
The people also projected various developmental demands which were mainly related to construction of road links, adequate health care facilities, water/power supply, sanitation, employment, old age/widow pensions, construction of community hall at Mathwar etc.
Member Parliament while responding to various issues projected by sarpanchs/panchs gave assurance to the people that their demand would be met soon.
