JAMMU, Oct 14: Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar today released a book titled “Lab Manual”, edited by Dr Amit Sharma, Dr Vikas Sharma, and Dr Mohinder Paul, faculty members of Statistics Department in JU.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the editors for bringing out the valuable book on Statistics. He said that book will definitely provide more and more information about the Statistics especially for under graduate students who are running their course in statistics from Department of Distance Education and also for Post Graduate and scholars for basic knowledge of Statistics.
Prof Ishar emphasized that such contributions by the university staff in the form of books add to the valuable resource of any academic discipline and should be encouraged.
Prof JP Singh Joorel, Dean Mathematical Science presided over the function. In his address, he reflected on the need for such contributions that would go a long way in developing a culture of research among academicians.
Prof Rahul Gupta, HoD of Statistics, gave his special remarks saying that this book will be an asset for the students as well as practitioners.
Director of DDE, Professor VD Singh, Special secretary to Vice Chancellor Jai Kumar Sharma, Liaison officer, Akhilesh Sharma and Rakesh Chib were also present on the occasion.
