Jammu May 25: Vice Chancellor of Jammu University today released a book titled “Demography: A Critical Approach”, written by Jhanvi Khanna, Assistant Professor in Department of Economics, Udhampur Campus, JU.
Published by New Era International Imprint, Chandigarh, the book aims to give a deep theoretical knowledge about various demographical aspects like fertility, mortality, urbanization, migration, etc along with the critical analysis of various theories of population and migration. In this book, efforts have been made to study and analyze the various population policies in India over the period of time and the relationship between population growth and economic development.
This book also deals with certain contemporary issues like demographic dividend, child labour, family planning and the relationship between the population growth and environmental linkages. The book is primarily designed to meet the requirements of general readers interested in studying about the various aspects of population.
