JAMMU, June 15: Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, today held a detailed interaction session with the chairpersons and principals of private affiliated colleges of education, law, BBA, BCA in Seminar Hall of Computer Science and IT.
The prime agenda of the session was to discuss the modalities and new initiatives so that the admissions for the session 2012 -13 are more student friendly and at the same time due care is taken to stick to rules for bringing academic excellence.
The members of FORCE, ARC and other participants gave pragmatic suggestions in order to make higher education more meaningful and vibrant during the meeting.
In a detailed power point presentation the participants were apprised of online submission of application forms and counseling proposed by the University administration for the forthcoming admissions.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ishar stressed upon the strict adherence to norms by the colleges and adequate transparency so that the students are benefited in best possible manner. S Harbans Singh president FORCE, ARC and other participants appreciated positive initiative taken up by Prof Ishar and committed support of the colleges to the positive reforms that will encourage private sector.
Prof Naresh Padha, proposed the vote of thanks. He suggested certain remedial measures to make higher education more lucrative so that the teaching staff finds working with private colleges equally secure. S S Wazir also spoke on the occasion.
Sanjeev Mahajan, Joint Registrar, CDC, conducted the proceedings of the function. Among others Prof R D Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Desh Bandhu, Director College Development Council, Prof Manoj Dhar, Controller of Examination, Jai Kumar Sharma, OSD to Vice Chancellor and chairpersons & principals form various private affiliated colleges were also present.
