JAMMU, Dec 30: Members of Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association have alleged step motherly treatment to them and urged the Vice-Chancellor to pay attention towards their issues.
During a meeting of the Association, the members said that despite repeated instructions by the UGC to the university authorities for giving representation to SCs and STs in the competent bodies like University Council, Syndicate, Academic Council, Establishment Committee etc, no step has ever been taken to comply with the instructions.
Further, they added, there has been violation of reservation rules as the quota for SCs and STs in promotions, has not been filled up till date.
The Association demanded that the backlog quota for different categories should be calculated and filled up immediately.
