JU Reasi Campus organizes lecture on Constitutional duties

REASI, Mar 14: Reasi Campus of Jammu University today organized a lecture on the Constitutional obligations in terms of their values, rights, duties and responsibilities of citizen as a part of good practices in higher educational institutions.
The lecture was delivered by Prof Satinder Kumar, Head, Department of Law and Dean, Faculty of Law, JU and chaired by Prof S K Pandey, Director, Reasi Campus of Jammu University. Students of 1st and 3rd semesters of MDP Sociology and staff of the campus attended the lecture.
Prof Satinder highlighted the key features and core values of Indian Constitution, including sovereignty, socialism, secularism, democracy, republican character of Indian state, justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, human dignity and the unity and integrity of the nation. He said that it can be only possible by spreading the awareness of constitutional moral obligations to every citizen of the society.
Prof Pandey, in his address, stated that as a good and responsible citizen of the country, one must be aware of both the fundamental rights and duties. He also talked about basic approach of the Constitution and said that comprehending all the rules and regulations proposed by the Government may boost every citizen in achieving their responsibilities towards the country. “A country can flourish only when its citizens are responsible enough to build a strong and powerful nation,” he stressed .
The event was organized by Manoj Kumar and Ravi Kumar while Dr Nisha Sharma presented formal vote of thanks.
