JAMMU, Feb 12: Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof Manoj K Dhar chaired the Open House Discussion on National Education Policy with the Theme of ‘Draft National Higher Education Qualifications Framework’ (NHEQF), which was recently proposed for review and submissions from the stakeholders.
Today’s ‘Open House Discussion’ was organized by the National Education Policy Cell of JU, under the convenership of Prof Renu Nanda who is also Dean, Education in JU. Prof Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, JU was also present on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor initiated with thoughtful discussion and highlighted the greater prospect of NEP 2020. He also reviewed roadmap for implementation of National Education Policy-2020 in J&K and guided on the planning to take actions for the implementation of NEP 2020 in the upcoming sessions.
After the detailed observation of highlights on NEP 2020 and its possible implementation, the house was kept open for discussion by the participants, who included Dr Ravinder Tiku (Principal GGM Science College), Dr S P Saraswat (Principal, GCW Parade). Prof G S Rakwal (Principal, MAM College), Prof M H Shah (Principal, GDC Poonch), Dr Rakesh Koul (Principal, GDC Mahanpur), Dr. B L Thakur (Principal, GDC Udhampur), Dr Shumbu Nath (Principal, GDC Thathri), Dr Ranvijay Singh (Principal, Ramban), Dr Naveen Anand (Principal, GDC Samba) Prof. Mubarak Singh from GDC Udhampur and Dr Arvind Sharma from GDC Rajouri.
Apart from the academicians from higher Education, Sunil Kumar Sharma (Sr Academic Officer-SCERT-Jammu), Ravinder Singh (Ex Director-School Education Jammu) and Manju Bala (Coordinator of NGO) shared their thoughts and showed new opinions to make the courses more efficient and applicable.
Dr Neeraj Sharma (Special Secretary to JU Vice Chancellor) and Dr Sumita Sharma (Deputy Registrar, Academics, JU) shared their ideas and planning to make the implementation easy and possible in the upcoming session.
Conveners of Board of Studies and members of NEP Cell of JU took active part in the discussion and shared excellent suggestions .
Prof Renu Nanda, Dean Education and Convener NEP Cell JU, briefed the participants about the NEP 2020 and section 4 of the Draft National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF).
After the exchange of views, Prof Naresh Padha concluded the discussion by presenting the remarked and noted opinions and action plan to implement NEP 2020 in the upcoming session.
