JAMMU, May 15:  Sunil Sahi has been re-elected as president of Jammu University Non-Teaching Employees Union, elections of which were held today.
In a direct contest, Mr Sahi defeated Subash Raina with a margin of 91 votes and was elected as president of the Union for the fourth consecutive term.
In the election for Union office bearers, including president and executive body members, total 503 votes were polled.
Ravi Gupta was elected for the post of vice-president. He secured 179 votes and defeated his nearest rival Sham Lal in a multi-cornered contest.
Manoj Chouhan secured 276 votes and defeated Rajinder Singh with a margin of 66 votes for the post of general secretary. Pawan Singh Bhau, Sham Lal and Abhinav Sharma were elected as joint secretary, organizing secretary and treasurer by securing 333, 263 and 208 votes, respectively.
Vikas Langer, Anil Dubey, Sunita Aambla, Vikram Thakyal, Subash Chander and Sumit Sharma were elected as executive members of the Union, for which 33 contestants were in the fray.
