JU holds interactive session on ‘Stress Management through Yoga’

JAMMU, Aug 29: The 2-day interactive session on ‘Stress Management through Yoga’ was organized in the University of Jammu, here today.
The session was held under the Course Coordinator Manju Kapoor, Assistant Professor, J&K Institute of Management and Public Administration (IMPA), in collaboration with the Yoga Centre, University of Jammu.
The programme started with the interaction between the Director of the Yoga Centre, Dr  D L Choudhary and the participants from Education and Agriculture Departments.
The main focus of the session was on healthy life style, yogic asanas,  pranayam, meditation  and  various other aspects and dimensions to cope up with the stress of the individual.
The lecturers from the officers of education and the Agriculture Departments were exposed to the various techniques of leading healthy life by adopting balanced food, positive understanding, goodwill gestures and good interpersonal relations with each other.
Dr Choudhary threw light on the benefits of yoga for the integration of physical health, mental health and spirituality and spoke about the cultivation of inherited energy to produce more work, positive vibrations and bringing about comprehensive results in the institution.
After the interaction there was question answer session, wherein the participants made queries regarding stress management and the answers were given to them to their entire satisfaction.
The interactive session was followed by practical demonstration by the yoga instructor Sanjeev Kumar, who conducted various asanas, pranayam and meditation phase wise.
The participants took keen interest in each posture performed during the session.
