JAMMU, Aug 13: Jammu University is going hold a special convocation on September 16, 2014, for award of degrees and prizes to the students who passed examinations during 2006-2012.
This will be the second convocation within a fortnight as JU is holding its 14th Convocation on September 1, 2014 in which the students who have passed the examinations in the year 2013 shall be awarded degrees, medals, prizes and certificates of merit.
During the last few days, a number of representations were received from former students, who had passed examinations during the period 2006-2012, requesting that they may also be included for award of degrees, medals, prizes and certificates of merit at the next Convocation.
In view of these representations, JU made a request to the Chancellor for allowing the University to hold a Special Convocation for award of degrees and prizes to the students who had passed out during 2006-12. The Chancellor consulted the matter with Pro-Chancellor in the matter following which a decision was taken to hold a Special Convocation on September 16, 2014, for award of degrees and prizes to the students who passed examinations during 2006-2012.
The University is taking necessary action to inform the former students and making arrangements for the Special convocation.
