JTC’s concern over power crisis in Jagti township

JAMMU, Aug 23: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and KP Youth Front led by Shadi Lal Pandita has expressed grave concern over the long duration power cuts in the Jagti township and assailed the Power Development Department (PDD) for the same.
In a meeting here, today, Pandita said there are many patients in the township suffering form chronic diseases and they can’t resist the power curtailments in this hot and humid summer. The prolonging power cuts have made the lives of such people miserable. Besides, the students studies have also been affected by long duration power cuts especially during night hours, he added.
Highlighting the problems of unemployed youth Pandita demanded announcement of employment package for displaced youth and compensation to over-aged youth to start their own business.
He also demanded enhancement of cash relief, removal of encroachments from religious places and other properties of migrants in Valley. He urged the Lt. Governor, Manish Sinha to issue directives to PDD authorities to ensure round the clock power supply in the camp.
