JAMMU, Feb 9: A meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC and SKF.
The meeting discussed various issues relating to the Kashmiri displaced Pandit community and it expressed grave concern over the confusion created over the celebration of Maha Shivratri festival which as per one almanac is on February 12 and another on February 13.
The meeting however decided that the Maha Shivratri will be celebrated on February 13 which as per the Puranic and Shastras is the actual date for celebration of the festival. The meeting also demanded that the State holiday be declared on February 14 as has been a tradition earlier.
