JAMMU, Oct 20: The protest dharna held by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) at Jagti township, Nagrota near here in support of the demands of migrants entered 383rd day today.
The dharna is held under the chairmanship of JTC and SKF president, Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the protesters Pandita said that the Government is still not meeting our demands. He said that the Government is giving very little monthly cash relief to the migrant relief holders on which they are unable to feed their families due to sky rocketing of prices day by day.
He demanded increase in the monthly cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000. Pandita also demanded 20,000 jobs for unemployed displaced youth with 5000 posts for class fourth for those youth of community who could not afford higher education due to poverty.
