JAMMU, July 14: The dharna launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) in support of their demands entered 286th day at Jagti township today.
A meeting of JTC and SKF was held at dharna site under the leadership of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita to discuss the future course of action due to Government’s non seriousness towards the settlement of the demands of the displaced pandits. Pandita said that JTC and SKF has been on protest for 286 days in Jagti township to get their demands met. The Government should increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 and meet the remaining demands also.
He warned to intensify agitation in case Government failed to settle the demands. He also announced to cancel the JTC and SKF yatra to Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir due to failure of Government to provide permission to his organization for conducting the pilgrimage of holy shrine on Haar Ashtami.
