JTC, SKF chain hunger strike enters 18th day

JAMMU, Oct 19: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K chain hunger strike and protest entered 18th day today demanding enhancement of monthly cash relief from Rs13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month per family and jobs to those families where there is no Government employee.
Addressing the protestors, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that today is the 18th day of the agitation and it will continue till the Government solves all issues confronting displaced Pandits. It was decided in the meeting that if the Government does not meet the demands within 10 days, the JTC and SKF activists will block the National Highway.
Pandita demand a new employment package of 20,000 Jobs for unemployed KP youth out of which 5,000 Class VI posts be given to the unemployed youth of those families who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation due to poverty and pangs of exile. Besides, he demanded free ration to pensioners whose pensions are very low.
