JAMMU, Apr 5: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Jagti (Nagrota) was held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita, wherein the demands of the community were highlighted.
While addressing Shadi Lal Pandita said that since the Kashmiri Pandits are living a life in exile as such this community does not come under the preview of NFSA. Therefore, the Government should take immediate steps in ensuring release of ration kept withheld for past three months to the migrants on the previous scales.
Pandita further said that since the community has not yet been rehabilitated permanently as such banning issuance of RBA Certificates to the beneficiaries of this community hailing from Reserved Backward areas of Kashmir Valley is grave injustice. He demanded early revival of the orders for issuance of RBA Certificates to the eligible deserving candidates.
Alleging that each and every migrant family has suffered huge loss of their properties during past 27 years of migration as such, the Government should give one-time compensation of Rs 81 lakh to each and every migrant family.
Pandita said if the Government failed to meet their demands, the JTC will be left with no option other than resorting to path of agitation.
Raj Kumar Tickoo, Sunil Koul, Rajinder Dhar, Hari Krishan Pandita, SL Kar, Ram Ji Pandita, and many others were present on the occasion.
