JTC discusses migrants’ demands

JAMMU, May 1: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front  (SKF) was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC/SKF.
In the meeting various issues related to Kashmiri Pandit migrant community were discussed.
Addressing the meeting  Pandita  said that though the Government of India  has been kind enough to consider the Kashmiri Pandit migrants by extending direct benefits of relief vide Notification No. R&R/MR/105/2016 directed by Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India but in pursuance to the Government Notification the Zonal officers/ camp commandants of Relief Organisation had invited forms duly filled in from the registered migrant relief holders and linking their ration cards with Aadhar Cards, Pan Card and J&K Bank cancelled  cheque for extending direct relief benefits but the same has not been implemented as yet.
Pandita  demanded that the Relief Organization (M) should extend direct relief benefits under the scheme at an earliest.
He  further said that those fake registered migrants who could not fulfill the requisite formalities under direct benefit scheme as such these beneficiaries need to be stopped cash assistance relief and the relief of the genuine migrants enhanced to the tune of Rs 25000/- per month to enable the genuine migrants to meet their domestic needs.
Pandita said that in case the Government fails to suspend all fake and fictitious relief holders the migrants will come on roads for agitation right from Jagti township.
