JAMMU, July 26: A deputation of Jammu Tourism Action Committee (JTAC), led by Inderjeet Khajuria met the Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma and Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, separately and projected their burning demands regarding General Bus Stand, Jammu.
While apprising the Ministers, the deputation stressed on the retaining of Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at General Bus Stand. They demanded immediate construction of Multi Storied Complex with the facilities of parking, shopping, roof garden and Inter State Bus Terminal at General Bus Stand, Jammu.
They also apprised about the contradictory report submitted by sitting vice-chairman, Jammu Development Authority to the High Court Jammu regarding shifting of Inter State Bus Terminal from General Bus Stand, despite, project report framed by her predecessors for retaining of ISBT at same place.
The deputation also requested to lay the foundation stone of Multi Storied Complex well before the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct in the State.
The deputation further brought to the notice of ministers that the State Pollution Control Board is not implementing Government Order No 221/FST of 2014 dated 10-07-2014 regarding certain relaxation in setting up of Sewerage Treatment Plants to the hoteliers.
The Ministers principally agreed with the idea of mooting of Monitoring Committee for transparency and progress of all the ongoing tourism related projects in Jammu and assured for issuing directions to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu for early constitution of committee.
Others who were the part of deputation included Devender Choudhary, Rajesh Bittu, Jyoti Mahajan, Pawan Gupta, Baldev Raj, Sunil Suri and HS Manhas.
