JAMMU, Feb 16: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) MLA from Bishnah Ashwani Sharma today held a ‘Maha Rally’ at Bishnah town and highlight his achievements as legislator of Bishnah for past about 11 years during which, he said, the constituency has seen massive al-round development in every sphere of life.
Addressing the Maha Rally, which was attended by a large number of Sarpanchs and Panchs and local people from the constituency, Mr Sharma said with the commissioning of two Grid Stations of 2×50 MVA and 2×150 MVA at Partapsinghpura, the electricity scenario in entire Bishnah tehsil has improved considerably.
In education sector, he said, new schools have been opened while various schools have been upgraded. A Government Degree College and Higher Secondary School has been opened in Bishnah while efforts were afoot to gain a Degree College for Arnia.
Ashwani Sharma said the facilities at the Sub District Hospital, Bishnah has improved while Rs 14 crore have been got earmarked for construction of 50 bedded hospital at Bishnah.
He added that road connectivity in entire Bishnah constituency including Arnia has also undergone vast improvement.
On incentives for farmers, the MLA Bishnah said the irrigation water has started reaching tail end while new tube wells have been started. The lift irrigation scheme has undergone improvement and a series of Water Supply Schemes have also been launched. The quality of drinking water has also improved.
He said a Degree College, a Sub District Hospital and Primary Health Centre for Arnia have been proposed by him and were likely to be sanctioned shortly. A bridge over Aik Nullah was also on the cards, he added.
Work has been launched on Jak Chak Chimna-Arnia Nandpur road, he said.
Mr Sharma said the only solution to the problems of discrimination faced by Jammu was grant of statehood to the region. He said the JSM would intensify struggle to get separate State for Jammu and solve the problems of all refugees and border migrants.
