Addressing a joint press conference here today, president JPPF,  Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj, president State Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee & chairman J&K Transport Companies Association and former MLC, S Trilochan Singh Wazir, secretary general Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Munish Gupta,  president, Chamber of Traders’ Federation, Neeraj Anand, vice-president Bar Association, Jammu, advocate Sachin Gupta, general secretary Prem Sadhotra, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, president Shri Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh and president Brahman Sabha, VP Sharma said that the main purpose behind holding this  conference,  was to create awareness among masses and spread message to one and all to celebrate the Accession Day in unison on October 27 as it was the day  when the accession duly signed by the Late Maharaja Hari Singh. was accepted by the then Governor General of India, Lord Mountbatten which became full, final and irrevocable.
The celebration has become all the more important in view of the fact that some Kashmir centric politicians had questioned the authenticity of the accession and termed it merger only and not final. The acceptance by the then Governor General of India was under the provision of the Indian Independence Act 1947, which bore no conditions. No further document was required for merger as questioned by some Pak sponsored elements, who do not hesitate to give contradictory statements, which have no relevance and also misleading.
Describing the late Maharaja Hari Singh as a great social reformer and known for his vision and principles, the speakers said that Maharaja had made many social reforms in the society falling under his kingdom and was also a very secular personality and  he was liked and accepted by all the communities especially by the majority Muslim community. They revealed that it was his (Maharaja’s ) forefathers who had love and  affection for Kashmir as such purchased Kashmir against the consideration of Rs 75 lakh to save the people of Kashmir from the cruel British rule.
Hitting hard  continuation of 35A and 370 Articles, the speakers further said that both has caused great harm to the State and now it is the proper time to abrogate them, which will give a healing touch to the West Pakistani Refugees and Safai  Karamcharis,  who were deprived from their fundamental rights and privilege. They  further said that Article 370 being a temporary provision in the constitution needs to be dispensed with for the sake of justice. The removal of these articles will further strengthen the relations between State and Center, they maintained.
Speaking about the discrimination with Jammu, they said that Jammu province has been suffering right from the 1947 in every aspects it has been deliberately neglected. Quoting the open neglect by the Kashmiri politicians, they said that the demand of Jammu province enmass for declaring holiday on birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh on September 23 was rejected out rightly for no valid reason, deliberate contempt of  `one nation one tax’ at Lakhanpur, stalling of all ongoing tourism projects in Jammu and complete ignoring employment of Jammu youth are glaring examples of neglect.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included chairman AJHLA Inderjeet Khajuria, JPPF working president MS Katoch, ML Sharma, Avinash Bhatia, RS Jamwal, Kamla Sharma, Surinder Vir, Rajinder Gupta, PS Salathia, Ajeet Singh Adyal, Prabha Slathia and  president, Jat Kalyan Sabha, Ch Kamal Singh.
