JPDCL carries out massive drive to disconnect illegal connections

JAMMU, July 6: Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) Gangyal led by PD Singh Executive Engineer, Electric Division-II, Gandhi Nagar under the directions of MD JPDCL Gurmeet Singh carried out a massive drive to disconnect illegal connections at Hari Vihar.
During the drive, 35 connections which were running illegally were disconnected and people were made aware of the rules and regulations of the department.
As per official spokesman, in continuation to daily disconnection drive, the Enforcement Team headed by Executive Engineer along with Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Feeder Managers and other field staff conducted inspections in different sections of Electric Sub Division Gangyal where various transformers had recently been damaged due to illegal hooking.
Some of the big houses which were running more than 10 Air Conditioners without paying electricity were disconnected and the load of the defaulters was increased on the spot. People of the area were sensitized towards paying electricity bills so that the deficit of power revenue could be increased.
Various commercial establishments having huge pending arrears along the bypass road were also disconnected and were advised to pay their bills on time to avoid any such action in future.
Those who participated in the drive include Nitin Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer, Junior Engineers, Hiteshwar Sood, IP Singh and Jagjit Singh.
