SAMBA, Feb 18: A local journalist’s bike was stolen while he was reporting on an illegal mining incident in the Nonath Panchayat of Ghagwal this morning.
Laxman Sharma, who works for a local news portal, received a phone call around 8 a.m. from residents of Nonath, alerting him to illegal and forceful mining activities on their lands.
Sharma proceeded to the area with a police team to investigate the situation, while parking his bike en-route.
After assessing the scene, Sharma returned around 10:30 am, and found his bike missing.
On the complaint of the journalist, police have registered an FIR and started further investigation into the matter.
