JAMMU, Mar 9: Shiv Mandir Management Committee Trikuta Nagar has elected Shiv Kumar Jolly as its president.
A handout of the Committee stated that Jolly secured 202 votes while other candidate contesting for this position, Ashok Vaid got 89 votes.
Urmil Arora was elected as vice president of Sector 5 and Parveen Gupta as vice president of Sector 7 while Krishan Kishore Khajuria was elected as general secretary of the Management Committee.
The handout also stated that these were the first transparent ballot election of the Management Committee wherein over 75 per cent votes were polled.
It was also announced to organise such elections after every two years.
The whole process was held in smooth and peaceful manner and the newly formed Committee assured to work for the betterment of Shiv Mandir and to provide best facilities to the devotees.
