UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: Inspector General of Police, Technical Services, J&K, Johny Williams inaugurated the website of District Police, Udhampur at Conference Hall, DC Complex here today.
DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range Nissar Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar and SSP Dr Shailendra Mishra were also present on the occasion.
Calling it a revolutionary step, the IGP appealed to the people of Udhampur to make full use of the latest technology. He also lauded the role of SSP in launching the website and further said that the launch of the website would surely improve the delivery of citizen centric services. Adding that the department would soon start working on Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) which, the IGP said, would facilitate the interaction and sharing of information among all the Police stations. The IGP said that the website would also provide all the relevant information about the district police including Contacts of Police Officers, various programmes organized under CAP ,forthcoming events to be organized by the District police ,traffic status of the district and other useful social networking sites of District Police such as Facebook, Twitter , Whatsapp accounts etc. People can also file their grievances in the Grievance Redressal section of the website, added the IGP.
On the occasion, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range urged the people of Udhampur not to misuse the social networking sites. He said that Police and other agencies are keeping a close eye on all the activities occurring on these sites and strict action would be taken against the person who will try to disrupt the communal harmony by any means.
Stating the launching of website as a part of decentralization, the SSP said that linking the website with CCTNS will be the next step in this direction. He added that the website would definitely benefit the common people as they will be able to lodge their grievances directly, no matter where they live. Chief Prosecuting Officer, Prashant Mahajan would respond to all the queries and grievances , he further informed.
Among others, ADDC Arvind Sharma, Joint Director Planning Rakesh Jamwal, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, Dy DEO Sapna Kotwal, DSWO Rachna Sharma, CMO Dr Chander Prakash, CEO Bishan Singh , DySPs and other officers from District Administration and District Police besides prominent citizens also attended the programme.
