JMT Rainawari’s concern over grabbing of Gopi Tirath land

JAMMU, Aug 23: Jogishwari Mandir Trust (JMT), Ghat Jogi Lanker, Rainawari has taken serious note of the attempts being made by some anti social elements and land mafia to grab the ancient Gopi Tirath and its land at Brein Nishat , Srinagar in Kashmir Valley.
In an emergency meeting here, today under the presidentship of Bennerjeet Hak it warned the land mafia to desist from such activities and grabbing of ancient Gopi Tirath and its land comprising of many Kanals.
The meeting said that entire land of Gopi Tirath is the age old property of the Jogiiswari Mandir Trust, Ghat Jogilanker Rainawari. It said over the years land mafia in connivance with the bounty hunters and some vested interests are working over night to tamper the revenue records and change its status which will now be resisted by the Trust strongly and such elements involved in the land grabbing practice will be exposed before the community.
The meeting said already some land has been sold by sharks and some members within the community taking refuge under religious bodies operating in Kashmir.
The meeting said recently a team of the Trust which visited Gopi Tirath Shrine found that the Board of Trust was removed by these sharks and installed their own board depicting their ulterior motives.
