JAMMU, Feb 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today in the presence of its Commissioner, Avny Lavasa, organized a training programme at its Transport Yard in Manda to train the vehicle drivers in door-to-door garbage collection and segregation of household wastes.
Speaking on the occasion JMC Health Officer, Sanjogita Soodan emphasized on the role and responsibilities of auto drivers, importance of punctuality and consistent efforts for assigned responsibilities.
The training focused on solid waste collection where the drivers were trained to collect dry and wet wastes separately and to know the importance of route plan for primary collection of waste including starting point, starting time, waiting points and end point.
The training concluded with a pledge where a formal promise was made by the drivers to follow the basic instructions and help JMC to achieve a better ranking in Swachh Survekshan.
Sanitation officer (Zone 3), Rajinder Kumar and Chief Transport Officer–Talat Mehmood were also present on the occasion.
