JMC seals showroom, smashes several structures

JAMMU, Nov 22:  In its ongoing drive in the City of Temples, sleuths of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today sealed a showroom for violation of building norms and demolished several structures and cleared encroachments on the roads.
The team led by Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal in a major operation sealed showroom functioning  under the name  and style of National Furnishing at Maharaja Ghulab Singh Marg today. The building was said to be constructed in violation  of building norms and parking provisions.
The team also demolished the structure of one Inder Lal, son of Raman Kumar at Amphalla, encroaching upon the public land. The Enforcement Wing also removed make shift structure  of Raman Kumar, son of Saudagar Mal at Jewel Chowk which was causing  inconvenience to the public. A few other structures were also smashed.
The team during operation also seized a truck load of material from the areas from Shahidi Chowk to Jogi Gate. The Commissioner appealed the general public and traders not to encroach upon public space besides ensuring construction of building as per building norms. The owners of the commercial establishments were also suggested to  restore the parking space converted to other usage otherwise action as warranted under provisions of  Control of Building Operation Act shall be taken.
