JAMMU, Mar 4: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) sealed a building in residential area at Gandhi Nagar, which was being used for commercial purpose.
As per official spokespersons, on the instruction of Mandeep Kaur, Commissioner, JMC and under the supervision of RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (Adm), the Enforcement Staff led by the Enforcement Officer JMC sealed the premises at 47 C/C Gandhi Nagar, Jammu where a coaching centre was opened in violation of the status quo order of the High Court and also in violation of the land use of the area from residential to commercial one.
The said illegal construction seriously effects the planned development of Jammu City and contravenes the zoning regulation and also the said commercial activity causes traffic problems in the vicinity much to the inconvenience of the neighbourers residing in the locality, he added.
He informed that the action has been taken under section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
The sealing operation has been conducted with the assistance of teams from Police Station Gandhi Nagar and District Police Lines, Jammu.
