JAMMU, June 4: Jammu Municipal Corporation today retrieved a prime land worth crores of rupees at Rehari Chungi Jammu.
The drive was conducted under the active guidance of Commissioner JMC, during which the prime land worth crores of rupees under Khasra number 77/1 Min, falling under Revenue Village Jammu Khas was retrieved.
The land was given to JMC by Nazool Department for utilization of the same for public purpose and beautification. However, it was encroached upon by putting some concrete and make-shift structures by the alleged encroacher, who claimed that the land belonged to him and he was also having a stay order in his favour.
The alleged encroacher was given ample opportunity to remove the encroachment from the site but despite repeated notices, he failed to remove the encroachment from the site. Accordingly JMC removed the encroachment from the site and retrieved its prime land, said a spokesperson of the Municipality.
