JAMMU, Sept 2: Jammu Municipal Corporation today removed illegal hoardings from different areas of Jammu City.
Under the supervision of Ashish Kumar Gupta, Joint Commissioner (A) the field staff of JMC led by Tinna Mahajan, Secretary along with the Executive Magistrate First Class and with the assistance of police officials from police post Nowabad launched a drive against the advertisement displayed illegally in the different areas falling within its limits.
During the drive, illegally installed hoarding structure at Peer Baba opposite Press Club was dismantled by the team. The illegal advertisement material was also removed from various public places.
The installation of such illegal hoardings, signboards, posters, banners and bill boards deface the property, buildings and walls of the city and are also constant threat to pedestrians and traffic safety.
The JMC appealed the general public to remove all such hoardings, sign boards, posters, banners, bill boards and pole kiosks installed illegally failing which action will be initiated against the offenders and further contravention of the same shall attract penalty against such defaulters.
