JAMMU, May 29: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today conducted an extensive tour of Municipal cattle pond at Nagrota and reviewed the ongoing various development activities at the site.
Satpal Karlupia, Councilor of ward number 32; Surinder Sharma, Councilor of ward number 38; Mohit Mahajan, Executive Engineer (Project Division) JMC, along with his team, Dr Susheel Sharma, Municipal Veterinary Officer & concerned contractors were also present at the site.
Mayor conducted round of the whole complex along with the team and took stock of the ongoing construction works. He was apprised by the Project Division that the work of construction of boundary wall at the site is going to be almost completed.
Mayor said that an amount of Rs 5 crore has been embarked at the 1st instance from 14th Finance Commission award for this prestigious project which is spread over about 97 kanals of natural land surrounding by hillocks and having eco-friendly atmosphere. It will become a unique and modern Goshalla with separate sheds for bulls, cows as well as calves along with dispensary for treatment of sick animals.
Mayor further said that being the natural land a modern view point alongwith water bodies and solar plant will also be made available at this site and every efforts shall be taken to make it a famous tourist spot also as large number of pilgrimags of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Shrine pass through this route on daily basis. Moreover after the completion of this project, people will also get fresh milk from this modern Goshalla on routine basis.
Mayor said that there is also a provision of temple of Radha Krishan near the main entrance gate of this cattle pond alongwith shopping complex for the convenience of general public. He directed the project division JMC and concerned contractors to execute the work on this site within the stipulated time period by adopting proper social distancing and also appealed to the general public to cooperate with JMC in various development activities.
