JAMMU, May 29: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta, today toured the areas of Janipur Housing Colony and its adjoining localities of Ward number 36 and listened to the problems of inhabitants.
Subash Sharma, Councilor of Ward 36, Arun Gupta (XEn JMC), Mohd Taj Choudhary (XEn UEED), Dr Zaffar Iqbal (MVO JMC), Dr Saleem Khan (Health Officer) and Prem Raj (Transport Officer, JMC) were accompanying the Mayor.
During the tour, People took up the issue of left over work of nallah and deep drains in the area and demanded to complete the work well before rainy season. They also demanded lifting of stray animals/dogs on routine basis, providing new street lights and repairing the defunct ones, proper sanitation drive and fogging to prevent the spread of dengue in this season.
The Mayor directed XEn (UEED) to expedite the work of construction of nallah & deep drains in the area and asked the other officers to look into the grievances of the residents on war footing.
Later, Chander Mohan Gupta visit Peerkho and took the successful trial of precious cable car project of Jammu. Advocate Purnima Sharma (Deputy Mayor), Priya Sethi (Ex Minister), Rajesh Gupta (Ex MLA), all the three chairmen of respective committees of JMC, concerned councilors of that area, officers of JMC and Tourism department and representatives of cable car project were also present on the spot.
He directed the concerned agency to start the functioning of cable car project well before the start of Amarnath Yatra so that people of Jammu and pilgrims may take its benefit.
