JMC Mayor reviews cable car project

JAMMU, May 15: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today reviewed Peerkho-Maha Maya Temple cable car project.
The Mayor conducted a meeting in his office chamber with J&K Cable Corporation team headed by Deputy Project Manager Rakesh Bhat. Rakesh Gupta, Technical Advisor to the Mayor and Anil Gupta, AEE, JMC were also present in the meeting.
Chander Mohan asked the Corporation Team to expedite the work of cable car and commissioned the project at the earliest so that the citizens of Jammu and surrounding areas can be benefited and a large number of tourists attracted to the destination.
The team informed the Mayor that a project of Rs 75 crore is on the verge of completion and at present a trial run from Peerko to Maha Maya Temple is in progress. The team said the project will be completed most probably within one month and people will be able to enjoy cable car ride in Jammu.
The Mayor laid stress on extensive plantation of the area under cable car project. He directed the authorities to construct state of art fountains with music and latest architectural features competitive with the best in India. He also asked them to construct a number of view points for the visitors in different eco friendly colors.
He further directed the authority to provide glow sign boards showing location of cable car area. He also asked them to provide beautiful parking shed, proper illumination with decorated lights and flowers in hanging buckets etc.
