JAMMU, July 27: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Narinder Singh Jamwal, Chairman Health and Sanitation Standing Committee JMC today conducted extensive tour of Nai Basti near Lower Muthi and Anand Nagar Bohri of Ward 61 and 67 and took stock of the situation arisen due to continues rain and overflowing of deep drains.
He was accompanied by concerned Wards’ Councillor including Suraj Parkash Padha Councillor Ward 67 and Mohinder Bhagat Councillor Ward 61 during the tour.
The residents told the Mayor regarding difficulties being faced by them especially during every rainy season as sewerage water and silt scatters in the adjoining lanes and even enters into the low lying residential localities.
The Mayor listened to their grievances with great patience and assured that all their genuine issues regarding renovation/ remodelling of nallahs and other allied works will be executed on priority basis to avoid the overflow of the water on the roadside.
He directed the Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti Department, Executive Engineer of JKPDCL to immediately change the damaged water pipes carrying the potable water at Lower Muthi and poles of high tension lines, so that regular water supply and uninterrupted electricity can be assured to the public.
He told that all the Municipal Councillors were committed to provide best possible facilities to the citizens of their respective wards and appealed the public to come forward and cooperate with the JMC to make city neat and clean.
