JAMMU, Oct 26: Suraj Parkash Padha, Chairman, Swachh Bharat Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with other members of the Committee inaugurated the audio awareness system through loudspeaker at Dogra Chowk.
The members of Swachh Bharat Committee present on the occasion were Yash Pal Sharma, Jyoti Devi, Sandhya Gupta, Gopal Gupta, Rachpal Bhardwaj, Inder Singh Sudan, Mohinder Kumar and Mohi-Ud- Din Choudhary. Also present were Ashish Kumar Gupta, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC/Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat Mission and Dr Zaffar Iqbal, MVO, JMC.
Through this audio system JMC will aware the general public not to throw the garbage outside, always use dust bin, don’t encroach the foot paths, avoid using single use plastic and always use cloth/jute bags to make the city neat and clean and improve ranking in Swachhata Survekhan 2020 which is going on.
Inaugurating the audio system, Chairman, Swachh Bharat Committee said that via these activities they will aware the masses and JMC teams have already taken these initiatives in different schools/colleges. He said till date JMC has given the awareness/practical demonstration in about 197 schools/colleges/resident welfare associations/market associations in Jammu city and will take the awareness initiative in future also especially on solid/plastic waste management.
On the occasion, Joint Commissioner (A) said that they will install this type of audio system at other chowks of the city also. He said first of all, such systems will be installed in already identified nine chowks and he appealed to the general public to use cloth/jute carry bags during any type of purchase in the market.
