JAMMU, July 16: Civic Safaikaramchari Union (CSU), Driver and Cleaners Union (D&CU) and Clerical Union of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) held a meeting and discussed various demands.
During the meeting, Civic Safaikaramchari Union headed by Rinku Gill, Driver and Cleaners Union headed by Mohammad Younis Bhatt, Clerical Union headed by Rohit George and all the union representatives and members expressed their resentment over JMC authorities for not fulfilling their demands.
“We had served one month ultimatum to the JMC authorities for fulfilling our demands, which will be completed on July 18 and if till then our demands were not redressed, we will go on strike”, the speakers warned.
They demanded re-organization of JMC, DPC of all cadres, salary enhancement of 200 casual basis SKC, increase in the wages of NGO safaikaramcharis, regularization of contractual drivers, regularization of contractual computer operators, architect and others, time bound promotions, relieving of field staff from clerical chairs and conversion of safaikaramcharis services from TDL to PDL.
Among others present were Jarnail Khokhar, Attar Singh, Sanju Burat, Jeewan Singh, Ram Chand, Ashwani, Ravinder Bhatt, Gopal Krishan, Mohammad Sadiq, Anil Bali, John Lawrence, Sabi and Rakesh Kumar.
