JMC Commissioner asks officers to follow guidelines of Swachh Survekshan

JAMMU, Jan 4: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr Manmohan Singh today asked the officers and officials of the Corporation to follow the guidelines of Swachh Survekshan-2017 so that marks fixed for maintaining sanitation as well as other things can be achieved and Jammu City can qualify in Smart City Challenge-2.
Dr Singh was speaking during a meeting of the Corporation which was held with respect to Swachh Survekshan, which has been commenced on national basis from January 4. During the course of meeting threadbare discussion was held with the sanitation staff of the Corporation as well as with officers from Health Wing of JMC.
The JMC Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that sanitation staff are putting their possible efforts in achieving the challenge and further added that JMC have installed more dustbins within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation so that goal of maintaining proper sanitation can be achieved keeping in view the smart city.
He stated that the sanitation staff has been provided two types of dustbins for door to door collection of garbage so that they can put the garbage in the containers to minimize the chances of garbage littering on the roads.
He further appealed the general not to throw garbage on the roads and put the same in the containers installed for the purpose, and also extend their helping hands in achieving the goal of Smart City.
The meeting was attended by RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer, Ranjit Singh, Secretary, Vinakshi Koul, Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works), Dr Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, Dr Jaswant Singh, Municipal Veterinary Officer, RC Gupta, Special Assistant to Commissioner, Probodh Sharma, Executive Engineer (Central) and other field staff.
