JMC, Bharat Petroleum celebrate ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’

JAMMU, July 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Bharat Petroleum here today celebrated ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ wherein a ‘Swachhta Pledge’ was administered to all the dignitaries present on the occasion along with ‘Safai Sathis’ (Safai Karamcharis).
Anchoring of the event was done by RJ Sarang (91.9 Red FM).
Sarang briefed about ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ and welcomed dignitaries from JMC and Bharat Petroleum.
The initiatives taken by Bharat Petroleum were further briefed by dignitaries from Bharat Petroleum—Sandeep Kumar Raina and Eshu Kumar.
They said that Bharat Petroleum has actively participated in all ‘Swachhta Pakhwadas’ through extended family and has constantly been contributing to innovations and community led practices in Sanitation and Waste Management.
Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav emphasized on the initiatives taken by JMC regarding ban on Single Use Plastic.
Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma said: “Safai Sathis are the key to JMC’s increased yearly ranking in Swacchh Survekshan.”
She also talked about ‘Bye-Bye Plastic’ campaign initiated by JMC while JMC Chairmen—Hardeep Singh Mankotia, Ajay Gupta and Raj Kumar emphasized on achievements of the campaign.
Role of Swacchh Sathis of JMC was lauded for they being the pillars of sanitation.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Health Officer JMC, Dr. Vinod Sharma.

T-shirts along with jute bags were distributed to all the staff of BPCL and JMC Safai Sathis.
