JAMMU, June 3: JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYAC) has strongly condemned the statement of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj, in which they said that PoK refugees became refugees due to partition, whereas, there is no an iota of truth in this and this is totally wrong, misleading and untrue.
In his statement, Iqbal Singh Iqbal general secretary of the JKYAC suggested the members of YAIKS must read the history and then make any statement in public rather to mislead the people by issuing false and concocted statements. He said that YAIKS should know that J&K State had nothing to do with partition of sub continent and moreover, the issue of partition was over on August 15, 1947, whereas, the Pakistan army and the then terrorists known as `Qabalies’ made first attack on October 20 and started a genocide, which is the second largest genocide in the world in which more than 70,000 persons including children and women were brutally murdered within a period of less than 2 months.
He said that it was the first ethnic cleansing in the sub continent, which should be understood by such persons who are giving wrong statements and trying to distort the fact and history. He said that PoK refugees not fled to save their lives but they were ousted from their native place as the army of Pakistan occupied the land. He said PoK refugees instead of fleeing away to save their lives, they defended the border unarmed from October 20 to October 26 till the Maharaja Hari Singh signed the document of accession with the Indian Union.
