JAMMU, Oct 29: Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association (JKVDA) led by its vice president Dr Zaffar Iqbal met Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
During interaction with the Divisional Commissioner, Dr Iqbal presented him a letter urging him for exemption of veterinary doctors and paravets (compounders) from election duties in accordance with the earlier as well as latest circular issued by the Chief Election Commissioner, Government of India.
Divisional Commissioner gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured that necessary instruction will be issued to the concerned Deputy Commissioners for exemption of veterinary doctors and paravets (compounders) from election duties and also keeping in view the prevailing situation on the border where veterinary services are required round the clock.
Among others present were Dr Jaswant Singh, publicity secretary, Dr Vinay Vishal Sharma, treasurers and other members of the association.
Later, the delegation of JKVDA also met Director Animal Husbandry and Director Sheep Husbandry Department.
