JKTF to further intensify struggle as chain hunger strike enters 6th day

JAMMU, Oct 1: The ongoing chain hunger strike by Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum against the alleged pick and choose in recent  transfers of Masters/Lecturers by flouting all the norms of transfer policy,  entered into sixth day as fresh batch of four Masters sat on fast, here today.
Led by Yuvraj Singh Pathania (JKTF district vice president, Kathua), Ajaib Singh (Distt secy. Jammu),   Arjun Sharma (vice present Barnoti) and Chander Shekhar (zonal secy. Jammu) began their fast today amidst raising of slogans against the Education authorities.
Earlier, the JKTF had extended the ongoing hunger strike for five more days till 5th of October. Agitating JKTF is demanding modification of the transfer order, which have allegedly been made in violation of the norms.
While addressing the gathering, JKTF general secretary, Ganesh Khajuria, warned the Education authorities to desist from the confrontational approach adopted towards teaching community and sought putting the things in order by modifying all the genuine and deserving cases without any further delay.  “Delay on the part of authorities has already enraged the teaching community, which may explode at anytime and the whole responsibility will lie on the authorities,” he warned.
The JKTF leadership also discussed various hard options available with the Forum to get their grievances resolved. The Forum vowed to further intensify the struggle to reach at some logical conclusion.
