SRINAGAR, Feb 19: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF) today hoped that new Education Minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari, will take concrete steps to bring reform in the department.
The chairman of the Teachers’ Forum, Abdul Kayoom Wani said, “So it is the need of the hour to refresh and make the department child centered, restoration of ethical values and cleaning the department from corruption and political intervention by revealing the State’s education policies and restoring the dignity honour of teachers and other employees working in the department.
Wani said positive steps shall bring an effective change in the department. “Teachers’ Forum shall lend its full support in bringing reforms in the department and for the bright future of the students.
“We have in all circumstances exhibited the representative character and have criticized all the steps which were against the department, society and the future of students and at all levels have preferred reality instead of compromises and followed the principle of criticism for the sake of improvement not for the criticism for the sake of criticism,” he said.
The JKTF chairman said his Forum shall support all genuine steps under all circumstances and added that the teachers are the builders of nation as such deserve honor and respect but under the circumstances when teachers are without pay for six months and forcing their family’s to starvation is not less than a tragedy.
He hoped that steps to release the pay of teachers shall be given priority so that there would be no foul play with the honour self respect and future of their children.
