Srinagar, June 11: The retired employees of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) who have been for long demanding the release of their pending dues withheld by the Corporation today appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter.
Several retired employees have even died after they were not able to pay for their treatment as they were eyeing the dues they would be paid once they retire to help them in their old age.
However, their hope has been shattered by the officials of the JKTDC as they are continuously denying them the arrears under COLA along with other dues.
In this regard, these retired JKTDC employees have appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to intervene and help them in getting their due arrears of COLA and leave salary released.
“We have been approaching the Managing Directors, JKTDC time and again for releasing the arrears of COLA and leave salary etc. The MD has been refusing the same by telling us to approach the Lt Governor,” the delegation of the retired JKTDC employees said.
They said that the MD JKTDC could have released the dues because of funds provided to the JKTDC from time to time by the Government. “But they do not listen to us,” they said.
“We are the retirees of the JKTDC and have got no pensionary benefits and also have no other source of income. We have lost several colleagues who didn’t have money for carrying out treatment and had a hope that one they would get the benefits,” they said.
