JAMMU, June 25: J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) Workers Union today highlighted various demands of the employees and urged the Transport Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli to fulfill them on priority.
Addressing a press conference, general secretary of the union for Jammu province, Paramjeet Singh said that JKSRTC always remained on forefront to meet the challenges at the time when the State required most and in the process received causalities and financial losses to the Corporation as well, however, despite rendering best for the State and its people, the employees of JKSRTC in return are receiving sufferings and are living the life with host of problems, resulting that the employees of JKSRTC, who are being paid less wages are alienated from the society.
He said that the union time and again pleaded the issues before successive Gover-nments but their voice was not heard and their issues remained unresolved, leaving the SRTC employees to suffer badly.
Reiterating their demands, which include enhancement in grand-in-Aid, release of pending 52% DA, regularization of consolidated employees, restoration of Board of Directors’ membership, augmentation of new fleet and upgradation of workshops, Singh urged the Transport Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli, to consider their demands on priority. He hoped that the Minister will personally look into the matter take immediate steps to fulfill their genuine demands.
